Animal Watchers is conveniently located along your drive between Sierra Vista and I-10. We are just 1/2 mile west of Route 90 on HWY 82 (440 W Highway 82), in the Whetstone Area.
For those traveling to the Tucson Airport, we are just an hour away from the airport.
About the Owner, Mary Watcher
Mary began her dog career in the early 1980’s, in Denver, Colorado. Realizing her true passion was dogs, she volunteered at the Denver Dumb Friends League as a dog walker. She quickly worked her way up to teaching obedience classes for them, and answering phone calls on their Dog Behavioral Help Line one of the best in the nation. In 1986 she bought a boarding kennel in Ohio (which she successfully ran for 13 years). After visiting Sierra Vista, Mary decided to move to Sierra Vista. She sold her boarding and training facility in Ohio and bought her current pet boarding and dog training facility. Mary has over 30 years as a pet boarding professional and dog trainer. Mary is also an evaluator for the Animal Behavior College for over 9 years. She helps new dog trainers apply what they have learned to work in real-life situations. Mary also took an intensive 3 month dog training course with Rocky Boatman. She also completed “Karen Pyror’s Clicker Training Course for Instructors”, a very detailed, intense 6-month course on positive reinforcement training, where her instructor noted that Mary had impeccable reinforcement and timing skills.
Mary believes that pets are our companions and that each pet deserves to be treated with respect, and given lots of attention and care. She continues to attend seminars, classes, trade shows, etc. to bring the most up-to-date methods of care and training to her facility.

We provide Boarding for dogs, cats and various other pets. We also specialize in Doggie Day-Care and Dog Obedience Classes, for pet owners to competition level, from puppy to adult. We offer various activity classes such as agility, nose work, swimming, dock diving, AKC Canine Good Citizen Tests and Dog Behavior Training/Counseling services.
We want every pet owner to be able to leave home with peace of mind, knowing their pets are receiving responsible, professional and caring attention.
